Ministers of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M) quitted the interim government on Tuesday, local television channel Kantipur reported.
The move came after a meeting held Tuesday morning at Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala's official residence failed to reach an understanding on the immediate abolition of monarchy, the report said.
The meeting was attended by top leaders from the country's four major political parties.
