Chinese actor Hu Jun, who is working with director John Woo on "Battle of Red Cliff," is sparing time to once again portray patriotic general Zhang Xueliang, this time in the Olympic tribute film "The One."
The actor last played Zhang Xueliang in the newly-finished "Xi'an Incident," a TV drama based on the 1936 milestone event, in which Zhang played a fundamental role in helping the Chinese people unite to fight against Japanese invaders.
Compared to his leading role in "Xi'an Incident," Hu Jun only appears briefly in "The One," in which Zhang Xueliang finances the protagonist, Liu Changchun, to become the first Chinese to compete in the Olympics.
The 39-year-old actor portrays a general in John Woo's star-studded historical epic "Battle of Red Cliff," which has rallied together such top actors as Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Ken Watanabe.
