Yang named to elite WADA panel

    China's Olympic and world champion short-track speed skater Yang Yang (A) has been appointed a member of the newly-formed Athlete Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency, the organization announced in Montreal on Tuesday.

　　The aim of this 13-member working committee is to allow WADA closer contacts with athletes and to give the agency better insight into their concerns regarding doping, WADA said. "We are very pleased to have such a high-quality group of athletes in place," said WADA President Dick Pound. "Clean athletes are the most powerful force against doping in sport."
