In Ipsos' report, Qingdao citizens are the most satisfied, with those who living in Qinhuangdao and Shanghai coming next, while Beijiners only rank fifth. Interestingly, all the top-3 cities are coastal ones; with more than 85% of their citizens feeling satisfied.
Though Beijing is the capital of China and an international metropolis, only 77.7% of Beijingers are satisfied. The case is similar in Guangzhou, where only 75.8% of the total population claim that their lives are satisfactory.
The report also reveals that the higher one's income is, the more satisfied one tends to feel. Nearly 90% of the families each with a total monthly income of more than 8,000 yuan are satisfied. However, 1/3 of the families with a monthly income of less than 1,500 yuan are dissatisfied and feel pessimistic about their future.
